Our mission in Uganda is to in invite people into a place of belonging and purpose as they encounter God and find their identity in him. We are doing this through the work of Freedom Church, a church planting movement out of the U.K. with 17 locations in 10 countries around the world. Freedom is active in many ways throughout Kampala, holding weekly services, small groups, and running an outreach to boys living on the streets called Freedom Heroes with the goal of taking boys on a journey off the streets and back into family.
Our work with Freedom includes:
- Pastoral care – Running a mid-week group, mentoring individuals, running our Next Steps program to coach and encourage people
- Operations – Helping with systems and day to day management
- Supporting the international work of the church – Connecting with the central team in the UK on systems work, helping run the Africa Hub which is based out of Kampala, and planning/logistics for new church plants around the continent.
In addition to these efforts we also plan to develop counseling and community development efforts in the coming months.
